Supporting parents through the adventure of raising twins, triplets and more.
MPPOM is a non-profit organization that provides support and encourages the exchange of information, ideas and experiences relating to the birth and care of multiples on the San Francisco Peninsula.
The purpose of this organization is to build parenting skills for expectant and current parents of multiples through educational programs and peer support; and to assist financially disadvantaged families of multiples through our philanthropic services.
MPPOM is a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Being a parent can be overwhelming. Being a parent of multiples….well…. there doesn’t appear to be just one term that fits the bill. As overwhelming and terrifying the thought may be, equally great is the joy and delightful richness that comes from parenting multiples. And you’ve just discovered the best community on the peninsula to help you celebrate the wondrous times and support you through the rougher patches. Make no mistake about it – this is THE group that really gets it and will truly support you!
Mid-Peninsula Parents of Multiples is a diverse group of parents of multiples dedicated to supporting each other by sharing the joys and challenges of raising multiples. The club provides a wide variety of services spanning from an online forum and classifieds, expectant and new parent meetings, playgroups, educational speaker events, family (ex. Halloween Party & Ice Cream Social) and social events (ex. Mom’s & Couples’ Nights Out) to such services as a preemie, travel equipment and Halloween lending closet, bed rest support, a buddy system, meals in a pinch, TTTS support, a newsletter, Used Equipment & Clothing sale and more. Activities reach across all age groups from newborn to toddlers and preschoolers to school aged children. MPPOM also provides a “multiples plus” support group for those families that have multiples and singletons.
At the center of our organization is our philanthropic program, “Helping Hands” that helps those who are having difficulty managing the financial burden of multiples. The program provides families with donated clothing and equipment and a free one-year club membership.
Joining this community will give you confidence as you embark on your multiples journey. You will establish great new friendships and glean fantastic knowledge from the online forums and various meetings. I assure you there is no collection of parenting books that can replace the collective wisdom shared by our members.
So come check us out. Come as a couple to our expectant and new parent meetings during your pregnancy. Ask questions, exchange information and simply get a head start. You can even get a buddy and get support while you are on bed rest. And, very important with multiples, buy all the gear you will need from other members through our BigTent classifieds sections and bi-annual Used Clothing & Equipment sale. It will save you a ton of money and hassle!
Welcome to our club! I look forward to meeting you at an event or meeting soon.
